BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE
- Be a practicing Catholic, distinguished in his/her Christian life, faith and morals
- Has received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist
- Be at least 16 years old
- Demonstrate a deep reverence for and devotion to the Eucharist
- Possess the requisite abilities and temperament to carry out his/her assigned duties
- Temperament includes warmth, hospitality, a listening ear, compassion and a love for the elderly and infirmed
SHORT LIST OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sharing the love of Christ with those who are elderly, infirmed or unable to come to Mass
- Administering Holy Communion as an extraordinary minister according to the rite of the Church
- Serving as a liason between the parish and homebound individual
- Informing the pastor of any sacramental needs of the homebound individual (e.g. Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick)
